Pleasure Riding Scheme
This scheme is open to horses and ponies alike. It enables registered riders to attain awards at gradually increasing levels for time spent purely hacking. The scheme also allows those who do not own their own equine to register time spent at riding schools or exercising their friend's animals etc.
As these awards are a purely personal record of achievement and many of our members have a second equine which exceeds 15hh, PRA allows hours spent riding horses as well as ponies to be counted for these awards. (This is the only area of PRA for which equines over 15hh are eligible)
This area of the association is aimed, in general, at those who are much less competitive.
The rider with the highest number of hours logged in the saddle each year will be presented with PRA's Golden Saddle Trophy at the annual awards ceremony.
